This is a terracotta artistic reproduction of a Corinthian bowl with double handle. This reproduction is made entirely by hand, turned and graffitied by local artists. To obtain this result, it is cooked twice with ancient techniques, which the local master potters have managed to discover after many attempts to reproduce these vases.
They are also artificially patinated by hand to give the object an "antique" effect, even if the decorations imitate the originals of the vases found in the Etruscan tombs of Cerveteri and other Etruscan necropolises, they are the result of the work and ingenuity of every master potter, and each work is unique and different from the other, they may seem similar but they are not.
The cup is a vessel used to drink wine taken from the craters. A very widespread form since the most ancient era, it is called Corinthian because they were made in the Greek city of Corinth. These so-called Corinthian vases are unmistakable due to the clay they were made of, in fact this clay once cooked takes on a very light color, different from other Greek vases which after cooking are more red in color.
This reproduction of CORINTHIAN CUP WITH TWO HANDLES is 13 cm high, with a foot of 7.5 cm and a rim of 17.5 cm, maximum encumbrance from handle to handle 26 cm, with two handles and features drawings of animals and flowers in almost the entire surface of the vase, with handmade artificial patination, like everything else, reference number 14
This is a unique piece, entirely turned, graffitied, baked and patinated by hand.
